Preliminary Geologic Map of the Horse Springs Quadrangle, Clark and Nye Counties, Nevada

Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology OFR 03-12; a 1:24.000 scale Preliminary Geologic map of the Horse Springs Quadrangle, Clark and Nye Counties, southern Nevada. Detailed geologic mapping by Alan R. Ramelli, Craig M. DePolo, and John W. Bell in 2003. Field work done in 2001. Geologic map includes description of 22 units. The GIS work was in support of the U.S. Geological Survey COGEOMAP program. The Geodatabase specifies feature datasets and feature classes, together with feature attributes, subtypes and domains, suitable for the printed geologic map. In addition to basic geology (lithology, contacts and faults, etc.), the maps may include metamorphic overprints, cross-sections, and explanatory legend-graphics such as correlation charts, used to supplement columnar legends. The geologic mapping was supported by the U.S. Geological Survey STATEMAP Program, and the Nye County Department of Natural Resources and Fedral Facilities.
